Zell and Arnold Break Records
Senior James Zell and junior Donte Arnold recently had record-setting days. Zell, who figures to have a large role offensively during the 2010 campaign, set a new weight room record by completing 53 Dips. This smashed the previous record of 46 held by Alex Calle ('09). The following week Donte Arnold also set a record - his coming in Pro Agility. Arnold ran a staggering 4.13 beating the previous record by four-tenths of a second. A starter in the defensive secondary on the '09 State Playoff team, Donte is one of the top-returning defensive backs, and he will be taking on an additional role in 2010 as a wide receiver and kick returner.

OU is Next Stop for Aigner and Noon
Max Aigner ('10) and Ryan Noon ('10) will remain close over the next couple of years as they have both decided to attend Oklahoma University next fall. A starting defensive end until an injury cut his season short, Aigner's decision to make OU his new home was an easy one due to the fact he won the Marine Corps ROTC Scholarship, which is a 100% tuition paid scholarship. On top of his studies (he plans on majoring in Civil Engineering), Max will have drill work at 5:15am on the weekdays. After earning his degree, he will make another 4-year commitment to the Marine Corps serving as a commissioned officer, starting as a 2nd Lieutenant. Although Max will not continue his football career, he hopes for some free time from the Corps to be able to attend OU football games. Noon, on the other hand, had a tougher time making his college decision. Courted by many smaller schools after his stellar senior season due to his talent and versatility, Ryan could not find the perfect place that would allow him to continue his football career and offer his intended major, meteorology. In the end, meteorology was the decision; Noon chose OU because they boast one of the top severe weather research centers in the nation. Additionally, Ryan's loyalty as a life-long Sooner fan did also have an impact on his decision making. Although he was the Eagles leading receiver in 2009, as well as long-snapper and part-time quarterback, Ryan, too, will not be playing football in college but definitely looks forward to supporting OU football on Saturday afternoons this fall.

2010 Staff Undergoes Changes
Although almost the entire coaching staff from last year has returned, the 2010 group will look a bit different due to some recent changes. Coach Jason Miller, who for the past two years has worked as the sophomore offensive coordinator and varsity/sophomore wide receiver coach, will now serve as the head freshman coach. In addition to his head coaching duties, Coach Miller will also work with the quarterbacks and linebackers. Coach Miller is taking over for Lakes veteran, Coach Kurt Rowells who, after helping orchestrate two of most successful freshman campaigns in program history, is back on the varsity level for his second time. Coach Rowells will be coaching the varsity/sophomore wide receivers, which is a position he previously held with the program. New to the staff is Coach Andy Goggin. A graduate from the class of 2008, Coach Goggin is taking over for Coach Chris Snyder, who was recently named head boys basketball coach. Goggin has the distinction of being the first Lakes alum to come back and coach in a full-time capacity. He will be working with the running backs and linebackers on the freshman level.

Rigali to Study Architecture at KSU
Senior, Team Captain Josh Rigali will be studying Architecture at top-ranked Kansas State University in the fall. 'Originally, I tried to find a school where I would be able to continue playing football while studying Architecture,' says Rigali. 'Unfortunately, I didn't find such a school. My brother lives in Kansas, and he kept urging me to look into Kansas State. I decided to give KSU a chance and loved it immediately.' A standout at both wide receiver and defensive back for the Eagles, Rigali had nearly 500 yards of total offense during his varsity career, which includes a 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown versus Vernon Hills in 2008. Defensively, he tallied 41 tackles, 3 pass break ups, 1 T.F.L., and 1 interception with a return of 31 yards versus Perspectives in 2009. Josh, a two-time Academic All-Conference selection, is the personification of the 'student-athlete.' After he earns a degree from KSU, Rigali hopes to start designing houses and eventually open his own architectural firm.
